would anyone be able to tell me the dimensions of the U bolts used on the rear springs?

i have a sidevalve - with "matching" axle if that would make any difference

Do you still have 7 leaf springs?
The earlier springs are 7 x 7/32=1 17/32 # 1 1/2 in
The later springs are 5 x 1/4 = 1 1/4 in
1/4 in difference. There should be enough thread on M1000 U bolts to fit.
