Classic Campers?

I'm after info on buying or renting a small 'classic' camper.
I'm specifically interested in smaller van types, such as the Tandy Maestro, the Suntor Marina and the numerous Escort campers.
So far the internet as a whole seems woefully empty of information on this type of thing.
The back story is I'm planning to spend a few weeks touring Ireland next year (basically up from the far south to Port Rush in the north). I quite fancy buying a camper for the duration then flogging it when I get back.
So far all I can find are those pesky VW vans, which are either mega money or mega shafted (for want of a nicer expression).

rayofleamington has a marina suntor, you could ask him some questions but dont expect a response for at least a fortnight

A bit more research has brought up some more likely candidates.. those clever Japanese!
Now looking at Super Carry and similar based vans. They seem cheap too, being of no interest to 'wannabe' dudes, families or classic enthusiasts.

I used to have a Romahome detachable camper on the back of a Honda Acty.

If you can find such a camper back on a Diahatsu Hi-Jet (avoid diesel version like the plague) or Beford Rascal / Suzuki Spercarry then you will be very impressed by the amount of room and will easilly sell after.

PSL I now we didn,t like the vw,s but did you see that beetle camper that was odd the front windscreen was the caravan window

I think I would opt for the Bedford as My father had one when we were kids great to drive with door slid back in the summeras he used to on hols thinking now how dangerous no seat belts

I likw that myself and price seems good.
Makes me wonder if the statements - "current MOT and tax. MUST SELL BY 1st JAN. " are linked. ie the tax & MOT ran out on 31st Dec
