switch

hi all when i took my speedo of to fit the wire for my amp meter
i found a switch what is it for.there was also a green wire with a
spade end what is that for :(

Where was the switch? If it's underneath the dash, then it switches the speedo-light off, when parked with sidelights on.

Green wire... Does anything not work? If so, it's for that.
If it's still live, then get the end insulated before it shorts against something.

Green wire is a fairly common colour for accessories and things, so it could easily be aftermarket... :roll:

You had better do what Gareth suggests because dark green is
the colour of the wires from the fuse which are LIVE when the
ignition is on!!!
