Need vintage style plates.

Post by davidpidge »

Hi everyone. I recently bought my first morris minor. A 1959, 4 door saloon in clarendon grey. Everything on the car is totally original and nothing's been added since new but the number plates were removed by the previous owner so he could put them on a wedding hire car.

I want to buy some replica vintage style number plates so the car looks all original again. I need white-raised plastic letters on a black background and I need them made to order so I cn keep my current reg.

Anyone know the best place to buy these old style plates in the uk???
cheers

I've used Tippers Vintage Plates in the past and been very satisfied:

Probably the widest range of styles. Remember to specify 3 1/2" high letters for a 1959 car if you want it to look right, the smaller 3 1/8" letters only came in in '63 with the A reg suffix - smaller to make the extra character fit.
