Insurance for under 21 year olds

Post by Hendy1201 »

Hi

I was wondering if you could help me. I am 20 (just) and have a 1969 Morris 1000. The insurance is up for renewal in a couple of weeks, but I was wondering if there are any companies which are better for younger drivers. I'm currently with EON, no complaints about them, just that between last year and this my premium has only gone down £7 (thought it might reduce a bit more). Also, might sound a bit daft to people who are knowledgeable on the subject but, do you build up a no claims bonus on a classic car?

Also just wanted to say "Great Forum" I've used so much stuff from various threads when doing odd bits on the car (still learning, but getting better). Cheers

First question is are you a club member, and if so, have you tried the club scheme?

Definitely get a quote from Aon via the MMOC's own insurance scheme - details in Minor Matters. Some policies may offer a no claims discount, there are too many variations to give a simply yes or no.

If its agreed value classic policy for every day use you dont get any no claims, as said above phone AON and check your on the correct policy.
