just seen another thread on this same car the owners said they saved the chrome and engine and gearbox, dont look like it as he still drove it on the lorry said he did try to give it away but it is a shame so many usefull parts and on channel islands you would have thought spares would come in for someone out there he also said it was to rotton to repair maybe should have looked at some of the ongoing projects on forum

The owner posts on this site so it's a pity the car wasn't offered here. Someone might have wanted to save it.
The owners response is here:

Our new Moggie, Clover, is in far worse condition. We're new the world of Morris Minors and the more I read the threads on this forum, the more I realise that everyoe on this forum is prepared to spend countless hours working on, around and under their cars in order to preserve something they love. These cars aren't superbly valuable, or the fastest and for many of us not the shiniest but these cars have a charm that is clearly wasted on some. I have read the thread on here relating to "Top Gear" and seen this link posted there. This is a total waste of a good project car! How can this be allowed on the website of the MM "Owners" Club?

Shock Horror... no the car was so unroadworthy and had had such a half arsed refurb a while back sending it to the dump did everyone a favour.
The reason folk buy rubbish on E-bay is that the photos make the car look good. This was the case. It came with a folder of pics after the refurb that made the car look perfect 10 years ago yet it was a total pile of rust.
I spent some time putting in a working motor before realising the project was a waste of time and money. (Body filled over the wings, bits of biscuit tin used in the chassis). Once the heretic group have had me burned at the stake, I will post the close up pics of the missing chassis parts!
Advertized for "free Morris minor, no logbook" suprise suprise no takers, so please before you slag me off for having some fun with a wreck ask yourself, would you have spent a couple of grand on a yellow car.
Yes would you have paid £200 shipping from jersey plus haulier fees.... no I think not.
Oh yes and I totally realise the drawbacks of DIY as I have done a couple of home restorations yet decided to spend £14k getting a traveller done properly.

I don't have a problem with what ptitterington did with his car. I do think he could have been more adventurous with it's demise though
I know full well that sometimes you can't even give a car away, so what do you do?
I think It's a bit harsh the criticism he's had, and as he's said, the decent bits have been saved.
Minors in that sort of condition aren't worth much anyway.
Pete

Cheers Pete,
I knew there would be someone here with an ounce of common sense.
Being known locally as a Minor enthusiast.....
I have also been offered a really rotten 1967 2 door saloon, not run for at least 15 years and free for collection. (Lives under a tree, no windscreen)
Anyone interested please contact me. (lots of useful parts) No reg. Docs.
Postage not an option!
any takers

My dad bought an Ital to get the brakes/engine and other odds and sods as it was cheap. when he went to collect it the guy said he had offered it to the marina club but no one wanted it, bearing in mind how thin on the ground they are it did seem odd. When we got it home it was as is said about this one, a bit of a dog. the point is, people don't want to see it happen but they aren't willing to save it themselves.
the video was funny, a bit sad at the same time, but funny!
certainly looked more fun then cutting an Ital into little bits and putting it in the back of a modern car
