 I have trouble staying logged in. I have logged in on the front screen and at the messageboard level but when i vome out i have to log in again
This may not be an mmoc website problem as it appears to happen on another pnphp site i use but any advice would be welcome.

Have you tried the method in the sticky above? Click on 'Register' and log in through there rather than clicking 'log in', for some reason that way keeps you logged in for longer..

There are several possible causes.
1) mmoc.org.uk and morrisminoroc.co.uk are not the same, so if you've logged in from one and then follow a link (from an e-mail) to the other, you may not be logged in on that one.
2) if you delete the cookies that the site leaves on your machine, the site won't recognise you next time you visit the site.
3) As far as I can see, the system that operates the site occassionally deletes its 'session' records. This is a security feature, and is to help prevent hacking. This has the effect of the site not remembering that you're logged in.
4) different computers don't log eachother in
5) You did remember to tick 'remember me', didn't you?
6) things don't always work properly. - sometime you just can't explain it!

Now THATS what i call an answer. :D
What i havent done is is to log in at the home page using the log in and password from the latest minor mag. Dont know if that might be something to do with it.
I have left my mag at work, could someone please pm the info to me

That won't help - that's just for access to the members area..

I'm a new member and have this same problem of having to re-log in every time, even though I religiously tick the 'remember me' box. It's not a Mac thing is it? I'm on a Mac. Wonder if the others here are?

And the only cookies I know how to delete are the chocolate chip ones the missis gets from the shop.

i found the source of my problems. I had filled my pc with so much cr*p that i had to all intents and purposes, strangled it. The registry was messed up big time. I bought a 320gb external hard drive , saved everything i need and then (gulp) foratted my C drive and started from scratch. I logged into the website at the 'front screen' rather than just the messageboard and i have had no problems since then.
Happy Days :D

Thanks to a zero tolerance policy on downloads and letting the kids anywhere near it (effectively the same thing) i've still got loads of disk space on my mac. But I'll give your 'front desk' solution a try Rob, thanks.

Hmm, belay that last message, it's asking me to log on again, boo. I've not exited my browser since posting the last message at 6.35, so what now?

Log in through the Register page. It works.

Dropping out of logged-in status now for no apparent reason, which loses me the quick reply and ability to post new threads etc. I'm having to keep logging on again after a month of no problems with me being 'remembered' by the website. It started about 3/4 days ago. Has anything happened recently at the Important End (ie you guys) that might be causing this? thanks Tony

No - it's seems it's part of the way the site works - every now and then it does it to me and I've been informed by Husband Jon (Webmaster) that it's a form of "checking" who you are

OK good thanks for that insight. Any idea how long this scrutiny process lasts? Only it's a bit dull having to log in every time I want to reply to a post (as I had to do just now). thanks Tony
