Sealing B Post/Guttering

Post by gppj25 »

Have just stripped off one side of my Traveller wood and intend fitting one complete side - then maybe fit the other in a few months time, due to money etc. What method do you recommend for sealing the Front Pillar to the B-Post?

Secondly, I have stripped off half of the guttering and as most people have said, that renders it useless. If I am only renewing one side at the moment can I get away with renewing half of the guttering, otherwise when I get round to renewing the second side I'll have to renew the (whole) guttering once again - if you see what I mean.

Any comments/help very welcome.

Regards

Hi, The B post is sealed using a reasonable amount of Dum Dum which is a kind of non setting black mastic.Make a sausage about 13mm in diameter and fix to B post.offer up frame to this, bolt and tighten up.Remove excess with a filler spreader or similar. You may need to heave the new frame into place.I think you would be able to replace half the guttering at a time but I did mine in one go so not sure about that.It depends whether there is enough movement in the roof to allow the timber to be removed/refitted.Hope this helps.
