Hi All

I am tryinÇ to replace my gearbox on 1098 van and have been given a 948 gearbox(non ribbed). On tightening up, the engine won't turn over. So take it out again and realise the first motion layshaft is of a different profile. Any advice??

Thanks
Mark

The 1098 clutch is also different - does it foul the bell housing...?

I think you will find that the ratios wont be much good behind a 1098 either, why are you downgrading the running gear, the 948 clutch is only a 6 1/4" whereas the 1098 is 7 1/4"

Don't bother, the 948 box is not as strong.

Thanks everyone. That seems clear- I'll leave it out and find a 1098 box.

Cheers
