Supposed to be going in hospital tomorrow to have my knees sorted (at last!) but they phoned up to cancel it because of the cold weather they have no beds.
Looks like my moggying is put back once again,i am totally fed up!!
They re arranged it for Feb i'm in agony but do they care?

I just got a letter today - taking me off the waiting list to have my big toe reset (I'm still walking with a limp) - because I missed 3 appointments (wich they didn't send me).

Sorry to hear about your knee agony - and no they don't care very much.
My step sister was off work 10 months waiting for a heart op... at the hospital where she works! Hardly surprising they were short staffed.

Anyway - good luck for February.

hello sorry to hear of your dilemas but pain releif is on the cards evetualy, think of people like me and many others who are in chronic pain every day every night and no treatment for the conditions we suffer i am on morphine day and night i have had my condition over 15 years and some times i wish i was dead, be gratefull there will be help for you,,grandad

pain is bearable and medicine can ease the pain
death is forever

be thankful we are still alive
live is a gift, please dont abuse it

Must say I'm very thankful for life and health, so far. Many people on this board seem to be in some kind of difficulty which brings it home even more. So good health for 2009!

i too have had my share


700 stiches in hand and arm
bad hips and back and still work 50 + hours a week

and life is still good

Probably the wrong place to bring it up, but here goes. A man dies suddenly and comments are made about it being sad that he will not see his recently born grandson growing up. Another comment is that he will not know he is missing that event as he is no longer here. Further remarks suggest that he may know what he is missing if there is life after death (ie heaven) if this man was able to look down and see his family, or if not at least have a memory of them, this would imply that he may then be sad, which would quite possibly make heaven, not heaven for him! Alternatively people in heaven have no memory. Although it is said that one will recognise people from the past when there, which suggests a memory.
ps; I'm undecided.

Knees and mechanicing seem to go together- all those years in my youth kneeling on cold floors, ALWAYS in too much of a rush to get something soft to kneel on

years of working on cars like you say and to much of a rush to get something soft on your knees but I found leaning forward over wings and engine bays felt like my knees should not be at that angle always as I have got older a problem to me anyonelse had this problem

i have ben in the building all my life and it does takes its toll on the body but we keep going
all to easy to give in

i fear some take the easy route out

I do removals all week and like you say about giving up I can understand if the pain is to bad but all the time i am working great but like after xmas its hard to get moving again like an old car once started I,am away

No but I do notice a pull on the back that didnt used to be there.

Yep. I've got the same problem. My knees are pretty awful now and the doctor says I can't EVER kneel down on my left knee now thanks to the damage I have caused to it kneeling on hard surfaces. I have housemaid's knee (cue giggling ) and my knees are often swollen and painful.

Les, if something seems contradictory then there is usually something wrong with the assumption.
