Well you could try buying an adapter from laptop VGA port to scart or video lead. Ebay or google it ;)

Well there you go. I must admit I haven't directly tried to copy one to DVD, but I tried saving it and there was a lock on it.

Can't speak for the PC, but there are many Mac apps that allow you to record whatever's on the screen to disc - there must be the same for PC. We tried to tell them that (I worked there) at the time, but they were having none of it. Obviously copyright yada yada yada etc etc - you shouldn't do it and I don't for a second suggest that you should...

Well the program did appear on TV a few days ago (The 39 Steps - I was train Guard) but my video recorder didn't do a very good job of the recording - so I was hoping to get a hard disc copy from iPlayer. How did you make the copy to disc PSL ???

When you download the file through iPlayer it saves a copy of the file to your internet temp directory. I copied this file to disc using Nero 7....

I sent Roy a pm as I didn't want to encourage anything that might be illegal, but as license payers, and assuming it's for your own use, I don't think there is a problem?

It's not strictly allowed - but then again, neither is recording it to tape or DVD. The law is a bit of an ass over it all

Thanks Rich for various PMs - I do have Nero software - but still haven't found a way to download the film to disc. I can't see it's any less legal then copying from the TV !

Roy, I have copied the file to a CD (I don't have any recordable DVD's at the moment) and I can play it back on my PC from the disc. Only problem with this is that the license may expire with the removal of the programme from iPlayer. However, you are welcome to the disc if you want it....?
