Bad day today

Had to get the vet to put my old dog to sleep at 06.00 this morning.

I spent the night holding him but there was nothing to be done.

THIS was his page.

Still had some good news a couple of days ago - I'm going to be a Grandad.

Roger.

Sorry to hear that Rog

Recently had to do the same with a friends (albeit very close friend and the dog and I had spent a lot of time together) he had got to 16 and was really having problems - the vet said he had cancer.

Hy heartfelt condolances to you and your family, I know how much of a hole they make when they go :(

FOUR FEET

I have done mostly what most men do,
And pushed it out of mind,
But I can't forget, if I wanted to,
Four-Feet trotting behind.

Day after day, the whole day through-
Wherever my road inclined-
Four Feet said, "I am coming with you!"
And trotted along behind.

Now I must go by some other round-
Which I shall never find-
Somewhere that does not carry the sound
Of Four-Feet trotting behind

Rudyard Kipling.
Hope this may help mate.

Sad news, pets become more than part of a family, you sound like you gave him a good life.

Sincere condolences to you. As was said, you gave him a great life.

We lost our two dear pets almost a couple years back- within 2 months of each other. It was really tough.
Wife didn't want another, but we just welcomed little Baxter (a rescue from a local shelter) into our home two weeks ago.
Your pet will never be replaced, but perhaps one day a new one will come in to start a great life (for both of you).

Kurt

Well the topic was "Bad Day Today" - having said that prehaps a screaming toddler running rings round you will be a bad thing ;)
