hi folks, i have the opportunity to buy a fiat 2litre twin with all mounts and bits(downpipe, gearbox mount, modified prop etc) i know it is a dated modification, but i really like the idea of it.
are there many people on here who would be able to give me a hand with its instalation? i don't mean actual physical hand, i mean on here! ie...where to notch if notches are needed, where to put the mounts etc.
it's a big old project for me as i am pretty much a beginner with this sort of thing!
any help would be appreciated.

Best check out the Beardmore site, as they have done plenty fiat swaps.

However, if you have bought everything for the conversion, it is just a meccano set.

Go for it Callum - we will be able to have drag races when we are both sorted

Matt...that sounds like a smashing idea...god things are changing here so much! modded 1275 to 2litre fiat...i was keeping the car standard just over a year ago...

oh there was one more thing...i have been offered the bits for £350, all i should need is a radiator...so i think that is pretty good(as it's got the conversions already done to it). i should be able to sell my engine for about the same as that...plus i've got a maniflow triple branch blah blah blah. i reckon i could actually make a couple of hundred quid out of doing the conversion...

Are you sure the Fiat engine is in good order ? If not - it could be expensive to sort it out. But if it's good - go for it!

I did fancy the idea of a Fiat/Minor once but I'm sure I heard recently that it's pretty much a lost cause when one of those engines is past it's best cos yer just can't get the bits no more.

i have been offered the bits for £350
If the engine is good, then it's a fair price...
