windscreen wipers

my windscreen wipers have packed in could anyone advise me if the motor is at fault or the switch itself, its a split screen if that helps 803cc engine.

Do you have power at the motor? Check the fuses and see if they are OK and making a good connection....

If the wipers are the only things not working then the fuse will be OK, just check the connections into the fuse box. Before testing the wipers lift the blades clear of the screen or if necessary remove the arms.
The switch is on the earth side of the wiper motor so if the feed to the wiper motor from the fuse is live then you can check the motor by running a wire straight to earth, bypassing the switch.
Is your wiper motor behind the instrument panel or in the engine compartment?

thanks for the info: i'll have to wait till friday or satarday being xmas and all that and my work night out tomorow also the wife will hang me if i go near a car till then, cheers.

The wiper motor will be behind the glove box.

Just for my own knowledge then, the wiper motor was not moved when the Series II was restyled, not until the 948 Minor?
