wolseley for gauges
I have a couple of smith gauges that match the standard mm fuel/speedo/oil pressure, and have been looking for a way to mount them in the morrie
(possibly making up another "glovebox lid" and moving them around to fit)
anyway, i came across a couple of dash panels for a wolseley 4/44 (or 6/8 or 4/50). On further research i found this picture

looks to me like a source of smith clocks, of course assuming you can find one

It will depend on the model and year Mike.... The Series cars used Smiths....mike.perry wrote:Just had a close up look at the speedo and the lettering is a different style.
I thought Jaguar used Jaeger instruments.

That photo brings back memories, all that polished wood and leather and the view down the bonnet. I used to have a Series III Daimler Sovereign.
A lovely comfortable drive, trouble is I recon it cost me £100 in repairs every time I started the engine. I sold it when I cost me over £50 to fill the two 10 gallon fuel tanks, and at 15mpg that was frequently. I'll stick to Morris Minors from now on.
Memory must be slipping as regards the Smiths instruments.

those are the panels (less gauges obviously) im planning on adapting one to replace the series mm instrument panel
fitting the speedo, oil pressure, fuel along with a matching water temp, amps and clock
ideally i would fit a standard looking rev counter rather than the clock - perhaps i could get a new "monster tacho" rip out all the silly lights and have a custom ivory style face put in
oh and not to mention all the room for switches
i.e. front and rear window demisters
fan blower
spotlights (still looking for a reasonable condition lowlight front to fit them in)
amp power (running a very small amplifier via an mp3 player) all hidden of course
ooh, and my new toy - an exhaust flame thrower

And a big alternator to power it all.
The panels look rather long to fit anywhere on the MM dash.
You have no doubt seen the rev counter topic.
An ex MGB / Midget combined oil pressure / water temp gauge would save some space.
I recon that you would still have room on the glove box lid for the clock
