can any body help me find out the year of my car by lookin at it ,the reg is 6624az

i tried the other sites and cant make head or tail of it, i bought the car off a old man ,who in turn got it off a man who is passed away a long time ago , in ireland you have to get lots ,well 3 forms filled out and posted ,which is taken ages , just to get a new log book

such a pain i feel like a dope

when someone goes what year is your car and i dont know

well it is a leter model, after the clap hands wipers so from 62 i think

Hi Eveline, welcome!
Its a late car, after 1964 I'd guess. If you can post the chassis number I could tell you more exactly. Looks like an Irish built one, they had grill and wheels painted body colour and wee shamrocks on the glass were the British kite mark would be on a British built one.

ye post 64 for sure if you post chassis no im sure someone can help or you can get one of the Many books about the Morris Minor, The originlal Morris Minors is one of the very good books which can tell you the year exactly from the chassis nos

Glad its not like that over here as you get a section of the log book to hang onto until the new one arrives and of course you can see all the details before the old one is sent of, but if you put the chassis number up David I am sure will help.
Just a thought do you have any paperwork with it to tell you the chassis number if not do you know where to look ?

Sometimes if you look up under the dash behind the steering wheel on original minors theres a paper tag label on the wiring loom with an assembly date on, so its got to be later than that date.

Lots of componants are date stamped or labelled in some way or another. The risk is that after so many years, parts could have been changed. The wiring loom is a safe bet though as these tend to just be replaced with new (rather than second hand) if at all.....
