Somebody once said " any press is good press" but when it comes to criticising a Minor by making up stupid aneqdotes about how bad they are, I'd dissagree

What a load of rubbish. I was going to supply some constructive criticism but it is riddled with so many errors and stereotypes that I really can't be bothered. If the book is as bad as the review then that is one book that won't be gracing my bookshelf and I trust will not be stocked by regalia.
How about a boycott of the Guardian for publishing such c---. ?

Have you read the book or just the review? I believe there will be a proper review in Minor Matters soon.

I've got the book here. I'm about half way through it. Some good bits, some with which I don't agree; but overall the author is a fan. Oh, he's also Northern Editor of a certain national newspaper beginning with "O". Does anyone remember James Bond driving a Minor in Thunderball?

Edit: That should of course be beginning with "G". My only excuse is that I had a temperature of 102.8 when I typed the post, and obviously wasn't thinking straight.

I boycott all newspapers for the same reason but then i'm a bit like that ;-)

I had a nose through the book while I was out doing some fairly minimal xmas & birthday shopping - it looked interesting and entertaining. Much more of a personal account of minor ownership than anything remotely about the development of the minor.

I quite fancied a copy

Maybe I should confine my remarks to the review and its author.
And still boycott the Guardian.

Just to add my two pence worth, I got this book as a christmas present and I'm half way through it and finding it very entertaining.

The author is very complimentary about the wealth of information to be found on this site so the book may well help to attract new users here. He also refers to a posting by Matt in April 2007 (page 115). Fame at last Matt

Maybe I should have put it on my Christmas list. The review obviously didn't do it any favours

is actually dated april 2008 even though he says 2007 in the book.

I've got the book, haven't got round to reading it yet but from flicking through a few pages it seems quite interesting and funny

i read the book,the sunday before christmas i was tired so i stayed in bed and read i thaught it was a smashing read ,and funny too,nothing wrong with it at all.

People misspell my last name all the time, but I'm sure the designer of our wonderful cars is just quaking in the beyond over how it was presented in this article. Rubbish of an article!
