Interchangeability of "B" post profiles?

I'm trying to help out our transatlantic cousin tfee by finding a s/h left side "B"post for his traveller. Here is his one...

Now, I can source a 2 door "B" post which he could adapt, but before I start butchering an innocent 2 door, I wondered whether the profile of the door shut would be the same on the 4 door car. If so it would be a much simpler piece to remove! Any thoughts?

Yup, just one. Completely different, I'm afraid. The 2 door door extends much further into the pillar - just compare the bottom of the two pillar types

I would if I had the two close together to compare

Thanks for the swift answer, at least I know which car to attack now without any niggling doubt in my mind!

A pleasure - and a happy coincidence that I've been studying the damn things lately

wouldn't it be simpler to find one from a Traveller?

YES it would- has someone got a traveller out there to donate a "B" post? TFEE has put a post in "wanted" but not received any offers!(no offence bmc if you are about to produce!)
