Ok managed to get hold of a Nikki carb on a A-series manifold, (cheap) so as I dont know which A-series it came off, does anybody know what jets it should have for a 1098? and if I need new jets anybody have a contact for a firm that could supply them?
Best regards and best wishes for the holidays, whatever religion you are!!

Generally - these are not a great success on the A series, a big SU is much better! Sorry - can't help at all with jetting.

I have copy of a manual for the nikki, there is a chart in it for the Aseries
998-1100cc
P/slowrun 70
P/main jet 100
S/slow run 78
S/main jet 110
P/air corrector 60
S/air corrector 60
power jet 55

I have no idea where to get parts though. maybe a Japanese classic car specialist could help

Blimey!!! I thought there would be a main jet and a secondary one maybe, I've managed to get an exploded view of a Nikki carb so I will try to match the bits to the names.
Many thanks for taking the time to reply to the question.

If you want I could scan the pages I have & email them to you.
I dont know how well they'll copy as they're quite old & faded ' the ink has gone brown & the paper yellow

That would be great if you could.
then its a sheet of white paper to catch all the bits on an old blanket on the kitchen table and strip the carb to bits, its way to cold to be out in the garage, and I've got a very very understanding wife!!
then see how many screws are left over when I put it back togather again.
