New sparkplugs dont fit old HT's

Post by MortisMinor »

I bought a service kit from Bull Motif, I went to fit the ignition parts becose i had time to spare, but i was informed relatives were coming so i only had time to fit the plugs. But then as i tryed reconecting a plug to the lead, they didnt fit. I tryed on one of the new HT's and it did. Is this normal?, is it just an uprated igniton system or somethnig along thoase lines?.

Cant see any reason for this - all parts should be standard. Can you post any pics to help out?

At the little screw caps that go on the end of the plugs still in the old HT leads?

No ones time was wasted, this is what this forum is for, help and advice. There is always someone on here who has done it before.

That one is an easy mistake to make anyway, those caps sometimes vibrate loose and end up hiding in the end of the plug leads.

Best to tighten the little screw tops onto the plugs with pliers - to stop them working loose in service.
