Geoff,
Only Series MM's had front & rear piping.
1000's have piping at the rear guards only.
I think English cars had body coloured piping while the Aussie SII & 1000's had black.
The black piping is readily available locally. :D

I haven't checked for a while, but is coloured piping available in local (Aust.) colours?
Last I knew it was available only in VW colours.
Coloured piping is available ex-UK in UK colours, but not too many of their colours match ours.
I tried years ago for my MM but ended up painting the black piping to suit.

I think You'll have fun locating the Aust original colours. I have been on that mission here in NZ to get our original colours and am still trying to figure what was used. I know there was a Aust chap trying to do the same there and I think he was also struggling. :S

Geoff,

Sorry, haven't been able to access the forum lately :(

Spanners:
Whitworth/BSF spanners are usually for sale at swap meets (2nd hand & new). They are usually slightly dearer than metric/AF stuff but readily available. Bendigo Swap is coming up soon (I'd love to have a look one year) & you should be able to find them there. I know most swaps in NSW have stalls selling these.

Murlong Grey:
I have old Dulux colour books & I'll look up the code for Murlong Grey tonight & let you know the code. With the correct code, Dulux (now PPG) should be able to give you the formula. Sometimes the colour is only available in 2K but othertimes in 2K & acrylic.
Most modern coulrs don't really suit standard Morris Minors, but modern bright colours go well with modified cars (mags, spoilers, etc).
Australia did appear to have brighter colours than UK though; Turquoise & Panama Blue spring to mind.
