different gearboxes

Post by psjorge »

Hi,

Can someone please tell me how different are the 803 cc gearboxes and the ones used on 948 cc cars? Is there an external difference? Or are just the insides different? Can they be interchanged? Is there a difference in the gearbox tunnel?

Thanks,
Pedro

The 948 box is slightly stronger internally I believe - but the biggest difference is the remote control extension to put the gear lever near your hand - and yes -a different gearbox tunnel goes with that box. Good news is - you can use the main part of a 948 box and just fit the 803 gear lever assembly parts - if that's what you intend ?
