Really
I'll tell you why I'am asking, I'am the editor of the Irish Morris Minors Club Magazine and I'am running a series of articles on the Morris Minor on TV and Movies and obviously the first place you start is the most famous - Open All Hours (well that and Lovejoy), so I'am trying to find out any information I can on the White Minor from the show, so if someone from the club owns it that would be fantastic

... Maybe they would allow me to run a story on their car ? Or maybe someone has some information on it generally ?

She actually had few different ones, all white saloons, presumably all supposed to be acting as the same one, but they were slightly different to each other.
I'll see if I can find a previous thread on it.

Can't tell you anything about NGE but I used to live opposite the farmhouse that was used by Lovejoy, and saw quite a bit of filming. Went on set to see the car. It had wide wheels and a big bore tail pipe, but was otherwise a bog standard 1098. They had a resident "mechanic" who spotted a tiny drop of condensation on the dipstick. He then proclaimed that the head gasket must be about to fail, so the Director told him to get it fixed damn quickly, no matter what the cost. Nice bit of overtime for a local garage. I sold them a couple of parts from my stock, but can't now remember what.

Those pictures are great !!!
This should probably go in a seperate topic, but in relation to Miriam (Lovejoys Car) does anyone have any information on her (thought there must have been many Miriams) ? Ie pictures, information, trivia, where is one of her now etc... ???

See my post above for some details of Miriam. I can confirm that the number plates were false for filming, double sided tape used to cover the genuine road plates.

At least 2 different cars were used in Lovejoy. One a 68 and the other a 69 although despite differences were passed off as the same car.....

One of the 'open all hours' Minors was sold on e-bay earlier this year. It came with signed cast photo's, a full mot, and went for around £4k I think.

I have come across an article in issue 1 of Minor Monthly, July 1995 about Miriam VOY943G, a 1968 Convertible which in May 1992, because the film company were unable to store it, was given as a prize in a photo competition run by The News of the World, entry was £1 & the car was valued at £8000. This car did the JOGLE in 1994.
For the following series of Lovejoy, a saloon conversion with alloy wheels was used.

I'm very suspicious about Nurse Gladys using different Minors... don't you think that being a nurse is a great cover? I bet she was dealing drugs, guns, banned breeds of dogs, or something...
