They are essentially the same size (and thanks for the snide remark Ray) - and are available very cheaply. You will really need to hold them side to side with the W shoes and compare the slight mods necessary. A little metal will need removing on the nose of each shoe - and then filed to take the adjuster snail. Holes for return springs may need drilling too. One set I bought are slightly wider but only because the friction material slightly overhangs the metal shoe on each side, the other set I bought are exactly the same width as the W shoes. I got both sets for ~ £10 (each set!) including delivery.

Just search on ebay - same shoes used late model TR7 and Triumph 200/2500. But do make sure they are for 9" brakes before buying! Early TR7s had only 8" drums.

These are suitable shoes - may not be the very cheapest - but not expensive either http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brake-shoes-Trium ... 240%3A1318

Only the mk2 Triumph 2500 shoes work- the ones with auto adjusters (discard these of course!) You might also need to cut a bit off the end of the sole plate to allow the adjuster cam to swing round. A bit of patience is all!!

My sets of shoes came bare - ie no adjusters etc attached. It is all metal removal - so not hard to do!

Excellent - handy to know - thanks for the tip!
Note - if you need wheel cylinder repair kits for the W cylinders - they are sold by Bull Motif - as repair kits for Austin Farina A 40 front brake cylinders. New cylinders however are not available - although they will sell you 're-sleeved' cylinders - but at a price!
