BKL485L

Anyone seen/got Austin pickup BKL485L? Last seen in Bristol in about 1987 - a nasty red primer finish, sadly grew a hole in drivers footwell floor, and had to be sold as the rent was a bit more important... :(

This could be because I got the reg number wrong! Got it confused with my first ever car, SLG 485L ( A marina 1800 auto, BTW). However, I've just found the pic above, which reveals the right reg - BKL 335K

Doh!

Good grief! And I bought it out of a scrapyard for £20! It was in much better nick than 2 I'm working on now, but that was back when I was even poorer, couldn't weld and there were no shops selling panels etc. I found 5 or 6 photos (well. negs, actually. that's how they stayed hidden for so long), would you (or possibly the owner) want copies? Scanning them's no bother - hi res if anyone wants that! I'd love to hear how it is now - I loved that car, took me 20 odd years to get another P up...

PS my emails in my profile if you want it. The car had been lifted onto a pile of cars when I found it, using a chain through the door voids - hope they managed to beat the dents out! and it had another car on top of it... Ah, memories... :D :D :D

Wow! A success for the Do You Know? section! That doesn't happen often, but it's nice to hear about when it does! :D :D :D
