can anyone direct me to a thread about this, as i have seached but i'am unable to find one.
although i can find pictures of the woodwork as an exploded diagram.
is this listed in a manual?

'Woodies' used to issue a 'how to' on this. I'm sure it's been detailed many time on here too. And will be well covered in the resto books.

anyone else , have looked at woodies site need to know the bolt screw positions so i can remov all woodwork, weld at refit.
so far have search 150+ entries and not found what is needed?

Very briefly, you strip out the interior trim, remove the 6 visible bolts holding the frame to the front cab, ease back the headlining to expose the joint between front and rear roofs, remove about 10 bolts.

Go to the rear and remove the 4 bolts holding the base of the timber hinge pillars to the floor ( I cut mine off as they were rusty) Remove all the screws from inside the car around the wheel arches, disconnect the rear lights, remove 4 bolts from the rear edge of the floor panel then lift off the frame.

forgot about 4 bolts!

Ease out the vertical rubber channel that the glass slides into where it meets the B pillar, behind this channel are 2 bolts per side that attach the timber to the B pillar.

Beliveve it or not, with nails. They are under the rain guttering, which is also nailed on

The topmost line of the rain gutter moulding acts as a hinge and you can prise up the folded seam to give access to the nails holding the gutter on.

My car had four screws downwards through the roof crossmembers, only accessible after removing the roof. How did you remove these without taking the roof off first? (and putting it back on last?)

I was lucky - I didn't need to remove my roof as the top rails and hinge posts were perfect. My mid rails were not that bad either but I tought they might look a bit odd against new arches and the vertical that fixes to the steel B post so I renewed them as well.

haven't prised the roof off yet, so far as i can tell ..........i will need to replace both mid rails and one mid inner window cover.

Why not just replace the mid rails and leave the roof in place?

Un bolt the hinge pillars and slot the new one in.
