My name is Robert Plaskett, I'm a filmmaker with the University of Gloucestershire.
I am making a documentary about British car enthusiasts and their passion for British cars.
I am looking for owners of these cars to interview and talk about why they love these cars.
If you or anyone you know would be interested in taking part, I would very much appreciate it if you could pass this information on about the documentary.
The documentary is a 9 minute piece which will include a brief history of the British car industry, filming and interviews at motor companies and then move on to people who have a passion for these cars and collectors of them.
At the minute we have secured an interview with the Morgan Motor Company and also with the curator of the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon, Warwickshire.
What we need now are interviewees who can talk about their passion.
We will be filming this documentary over November and the first two weeks of December.
If you or anyone you know could help us please email me at
robertplaskett@hotmail.co.uk or contact me on 01242 210076.
Thank you.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but if you are a bona-fide professional film maker, why are you using a Hotmail address?
Stuff like this makes me very nervous, I'd want a great deal of confidence that this was not a risky undertaking before I made any contact, myself......
Please - no offence is intended by this, I'm just rather risk-averse and healthily sceptical, that's all!

just to answer Luxobarge's concerns. the reason why i use a hotmail account is because i am a student filmmaker at the university and my university email address is just numbers so i prefer using my name.
my university email is
s0709140@glos.ac.uk
also i understand your concern about us filming but anybody who wishes to take part in the documentary will not be asked for anything, we will travel to you, with university ID if necessary and the film is part of a university project. there is the possibility it may be entered for film competitions but we ask any participants if they are ok with this.

OK Rob, that's cool - thanks a lot for the quick reply and words of assurance - I hope you didn't mind my asking, you can probably imagine why!
All the best - I'll have a think about this!
Cheers

I live within walking distance of the uni and would be up for that (to make it 4!).
If anyone travels up here for it, there's always a cup of tea and a garage.

Haha, yes of course!
I replaced that exhaust the monday after LEO because the flare at the end was shot (I temporarily clamped a new flare on the end that I'd cut off an old MG exhaust).
Also, and more worryingly, the tailpipe was riddled with holes just before where it exits that car, on the top edge, so it looked OK from below, but was actually pouring fumes out below the car!
Thanks for reminding me about that Bill
