These cars are complicated

Where is the gearbox oil filler plug?!!

Have googled but there are no forums like this one for the simple explanation or picture.

Desperate it needs to go for a re-MOT, son in law allowed the oil to drain out through the drive shaft seal when replacing the nearside shocker

It's my daughter's car not mine :D

Yes there are! Join the Car Mechanics Mag forum here:

It's brilliant, loads of Pug techs on there, if you don't have an answer within an hour of posting I'd be very surprised.

You do get a lot of "banter" and in jokes though, so be prepared.....

Sorry I can't answer your question directly myself - I steer clear of these cars at all times!

Cheers :D

Thats a wise move luxo ... i once foolishly offered to help a mate change the head gasket on his corsa .. i figured, how hard can it be, it's a doddle on a minor at worst it might be two day's work ... three weeks later .. sigh!

Depends on the gearbox. Most likelly it will be in the end of the box. Pull the inner wing sheild back and you will see a plate over the gearbox end casing, around the outside edge of this plate towards the front of the car should be the bung. It will either have a square drive or a 19 mm headed bolt.

I may also be on the back of the diff casing about half way up (21mm bolt)

Thanks for suggestions, still couldn't find the filler plug so:

I found the drain plug, drained the box and put in the required 2 litres of oil through the g'box breather (I did remove the top first!) which is situated on top of the gearbox to the left of the battery.

On a lot of those boxes that IS the filler-a black plastic 21mm nut with a stub sticking out. Unscrew the lot and fill slowwwly!!
