As this is the next major MMOC event, I was wondering if anyone from here has been invited to take part

Had my application turned down. A bit disappointed as I spent 25 years time keeping outside the Royal Courts of Justice when I was in the TA and I put the idea forward for the 50th anniversary in 1998
To clear up the mayor confusion it is the Lord Mayor of the City of London who changes every year with a big parade and comes out of the job with less money than he started as he coughs up a lot on charitable causes.
The other one is the mayor of what used to be the Greater London Council who gets elected every 5 years? and spends lots of your money.

Sorry to hear that Mike. Perhaps someone on here could claify if entry was by invitation as well as by application?

I'm informed that the event was by application and was over subscribed.
Some you win, some you lose.

Sorry, I seem to remember someone telling me that they had received an invitation. Perhaps it was simply in response to their application.

Boris doesn't spend any of MY money - we've got Holyrood to do that for us up here in Ecosseland!

Got an entry in the Oxford parade though. Anyone going to the AGM? Or is that another thread?

I was invited after I'd applied (verbally) unfortunately a MG would look a bit out of place so had to give my place up!

That's another thread

Did you apply, as again I beleve someone has been invited to take part.
'OJO' hasn't been invited, and she's specifically linked to the factory.

She also appeared on the front of the Club calendar as well as inside.

I thought it was by written application only? But you're right about the MG

maybe Mike can have your place

Not going and not invited! I understand that it's a very exclusive event!

Oxford Parade - They wanted a representative from each year of production. After they had fitted in all the applicants they then hunted round for cars to fill the gaps.

So there should only be one example from each year then? Might pop down there in 'OJO' just to watch
Just seems a shame that the Oxon & Berks Branch weren't involved and/or invited don't you think?

I suppose all the branches were treated equally.
Since you will be in Oxford you might as well go to the AGM.
