Hi,
Does anyone know what size and fitment bulb would go into the small sidelight units on a 1961 minor?
Also, what bulbs are used on the '62 - '63 slightly bigger sidelight units?
Thanks

Newer lights are 5watt small fitting -they twist in . Not sure about the older units. Will still be 5 watt of course - but very possibly the larger twist in fitting. A tip to make the lights brighter is to make a backplate/collar from chrome finish plastic and sit that behind the bulb. There is then some chance the lights will be seen on a dark night.

Sidelight bulbs were the same for all models from 1948 through to 1971!
One of the few things they never changed!!

I thought the earlier sidelights (as fitted to series II) were different?
If not I'll be changing my current front clear L488s to flashing earlier type lights!

The sidelight units do vary between years, but that was not the question!
The question was about the bulbs which were the same throughout the production run.

On our 62, there are stop/tail bulbs fitted. these are 5/21 for side/indicator.

You have that strange relay system which is the exception to the rule.
