Having seen the pictures of the car - I think it's the least of your worries! Never known a manifold to rust through.

Theres an article on how to do this in this months practical classics. I was thinking of doing it as well.

aye got a lot to do but while im busy on other parts and money tight no harm in sorting out a few bits for next to nothing also as i strip her down i am making a list of parts required and doing bits like this on a evening when i cant do any grinding ( dont wana upset the neighbours too much )

B&Q sell large plastic tubs with handles. They would certainly take an exhaust manifold. They're usually in the building section.

this can also be done by placing aluminium foil in the tank (or indeed any aluminium) along with the soda rather than using electricity
