Does any one know where the thread is which described the product code for mixing Platinum Grey paint is located ?
I found it many moons ago, or could some one advise on the correct formulation.

Many thanks

I have got the modern ICI code for it, which was provided by someone at the National rally with their PG Oxford MO..

I will try and get it for you on Monday.

I have tried that code, and it has not been any good to me.

I hope I can remember to write down the number...

I spoke to a nice chap at the ICI factory. They'll make any original colour for a price. More expensive than Blogs Paintshop but the colour sample pots are awesomely accurate.

Can't find the ICI website but it must be there somewhere. Thames Blue and Mist green samples were sent next day.

Just out of interest, how much do they charge for samples?

I haven't been able to find that code.. yet.

Onne,

Did you have any luck contacting the MO owner for the paint code or where he got the paint mixed?

Thanks

Sadly not Andrew. I looked long and hard for the bit of paper, but can't find it :(

I did see that, but the code I was given was different to that. It was a proper new ICI code.

Oh well, I gave Andrew that code. It may help in his search for the new ICI code. At least he'll have something to go on. You're the only other member that I know who has a platinum grey car. :D

Mine used to be in about 1953 when the owner changed it to Blue, then a few years later to Black.
Surely you can get the paint mixed/matched from most paint suppliers - maybe not celly, but you can easily get 2k - I just did (not platinum grey though), and it was a perfect match.

Pete.

Onne,

Thanks for trying. The only part of the original paint work left is not good enough to get a match at the paint shop. So it looks like a respray in Black or Green.

I have phone countless paint shops including several who claim to have endless records to no avail.

Thanks
