Unknown warning light

the wiring on the ute i am putting together at the moment has a few warning lights on the gauge panel

~ ignition warning light - sorted
~ high beam warning light - sorted
~ oil pressure warning light - green/yellow cable - sorted
~ mr unknown warning light - green/brown cable and that goes to the engine loom.

anyone know what this is for? the wiring diagram says that an oil filter warning light has green/yellow cables and if i remember correctly it works the same light as the oil pressure. im confused by what this might be for? does it power the flux capacitor?

It's probably the 'oil filter blocked' warning light. They are fairly pointless if you change the filter at the recommended service interval, and you might find you don't even have a sensor for it on your engine.

I don't have the sensor, but do have the spade at the bottom of the engine. I am going to rig it to be the indicator tell.

well its a datsun a12 engine so it only has oil pressure warning switch and temp. i dunno what to do with it now! i might use it for an indicator flasher because the stalk one has broken off.

just out of interest, are the orange lights in the later speedos mean to be indicator warning lights or just sed for those warning lights?

Just used for the warning lights. Nothing more. So they are there but pretty defunct.

My speedo orginally had a little rubber blanker over the hole for the light in question, but I've got a slightly earlier loom with the wiring for it, so gonna make use.
