wooden spacers on LCVs (at back of cab)

on the ute here i remember when i pulled the parts ute apart, i found four wooden slabs between the cab and the back panel. does anyone know what they are for? i dont have them anymore as they were destroyed so i guess i will have to make some more, or are there other options?

Do you mean the door post fillers?
The LCV uses a 4door B pillar. Therefore it has pressed features where the rear door hinges would go and these were packed using wood.
If you are replacing them, it doesn't have to be wood.

ok thanks very much. i might pack them out with rubber as wood will hold moisture. insertion rubber will do at $200 per metre! nothing but the best for this old girl

Which is why (I'm lead to believe) that oak was used originally

The New Zealand import van I'm working on at the moment looks like it never had the wooden inserts. Presumably the rubber seal strip just covered the gap and they never bothered with them...
Now shoudl I keep it 'correct' and leave them out, or put some in....

personally i would put some rubber ones in. my idea is that its a chance to put a dampening material to help reduce vibrations. dunno if it would make stuff-all difference but its better than having an empty hole there
