Ooooooh, like this one! Guess it will make a good price though. It even has an alta head fitted.

Have a look at the area in one of the pics that shows the area below the hood. There is that bulge that sat below the roof-sides joint and was only found on the later cars. My '49 hasn't got the bulge but our '52 does. I realise that this car is in-between so it may be my error and not anything dubious. Shame about the door window frames. We've got to go the same (M1000) route since our early frames are rotted.

I saw a lowlight with short bonnet and a central speedo interior panel from a later S2. Don't know how they managed to do that!

You aren't talking about the frames on the tourer are you? I know the chrome was peeling, but i'm sure they were far from rotted!

I looked at the amount of work to get them rechromed and then I looked at the BNIB stainless frames I have in the shed,and....

At least the rubber seals on the 1/4lights are OK. Maybe in a few years I'll get them added to the list of nasty jobs-to-be-done.
Image
I have got some doorchrome. The real deal.

I am not sure what state they are in though...

That moulding appeared around mid-1950 so it's nothing abnormal on a lowlight.
