I need to find out the list price for a 1968 Traveller, does anyone have a copy of original price lists or some other "official" document that would prove what the list price was?
I need it to calculate company car tax, so any official documentation to back up the price would be very useful.
TIA

Anyone?
Is this the sort of information that the club might have records of?

Sorry, not a list price, not 1968, but the closest I can offer from an original receipt dated 1st December 1970:
Vehicle £696
Purchase tax £214 19s 2d
12 months road tax £25
Reflective number plates £4 10s
Delivery charge £14
Seat belts £8 10s
Underseal £13 15s
Petrol / anti-freeze £1 9s
Documents £3 3s
Total on road £981 6s 2d
Hope that's of some help / interest.

My Traveller was bought new on 20th November 1969 and I have the original invoice
Minor Traveller Deluxe £504-6-10
Static Seat Belts £4-3-6
Anti Freeze 9-3
Fuel 4 gallons £1-6-0
Purchase tax £158-7-6
Total £698-13-1
This was a staff sale as the owner worked at Pressed Steel Fisher and would have included a discount of the basic price. I think it was 24% but I cannot be absolutely sure

I not quite old enough for pre-decimal currency but 4 gallons of fuel at £1-6-0 presumably 6 shillings which translates to 30p so 4 gallons for £1.30 or thereby making a gallon 32.5 pence, turn that into litres and its 7 pence a litre!
My earliest memory of fuel prices is being in the car with my parents and they were complaining about the cost of petrol reaching 70p a gallon, must have been in the 1970's but not sure which year!

The first gallon I bought cost me 6/8 (34p) in 1970 for my honda 50 insurance was £5 a year. and I was paid 10 shillings for a mornings work and 12/6 (32.5p)for my paper round. And I didn't have a beard then. I was 19 before I bought a car it seemed like an old car then. It was a 1968 Austin 1100 it was only 6 years old but already rust had taken its toll. Build quality wasn't great!
sorry off topic
