Bit sneaky this: looks like its No plates but the description says otherwise.

I thought you couldn't sell a registration number if the donor vehicle did not have an MOT which this car clearly does not.

You can sell a reg number but you can't transfer it to anything without the donor vehicle having an MOT. Clearly though, someone is selling the id here which will no doubt fall into the "wrong" hands. Its easy enough to ring a Moggie as it is without this kind of influence. Ebay shoul remove it immediately! Also, you cannot scrap a car - legally - without the V5c so if he is gonna scrap the car as suggested the V5c will have to go back to Swansea by the scrap merchant as verification that the vehicle has been disposed of.

But the car still exists -so it would be perfectly ok to buy the complete car and documents etc from the seller - and renovate it. His idea of needing scrapped - and a handy home mechanic on here may be completely at odds. So - Victor Brian Lewis - here's your chance for a Morris Minor with a good number plate for you!

Agree with that Roy but he clearly is not offering the car for sale. Maybe he should be advised to re-word his add if that is his intention....??

same as above - if you read the advert, he's not selling the car, just the V5 and ID. If anyone advises him to re-word the auction to make it easier to do that without getting caught, then that's very short sighted!

Well I am of course slightly tongue in cheek as usual - but he does say the car is still there - and to some folks on here it may well be perfectly possible to repair it and get it back on the road! Anyone interested should go along and see the car. Of course I don't suggest selling the plates and V5 is a legal way forward!

I see your point Roy but IMHO anyone who trades/advertises in this way is encouraging/practicing criminal behaviour, not attempting to sell a restorable vehicle or scrap metal.

That's now been the best part of 12 hours without being pulled.

If I saw a reg plate reading "VBL..." I'd just think, "Visible Panty Line"..... in my slightly dyslexic world that plate is pretty undesirable lol

Surely that would be VPL ?????? This is VBL.

All very funny I'm sure but if you or I had our car stolen and these plates were put on because the 'owner' bought the V5 on ebay we wouldn't be so amused I'm sure.
Is anyone else going to report this or I running a 1 man anti-ringing campaign?

Think he's took the hint... :-?

It now says: The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the listing.

Wether he ended it or ebay did, I'm not sure.

Just out of interest do a search on V5 under classic car spares. Plenty of other (non Minor) auctions for ids with minimal or no remnants of the original vehicle :(
