A warning to all - I recently sent off a cheque to one Max Eden who advertised parts for sale in the Sales section of this forum.
http://www.morrisminoroc.co.uk/index.ph ... ic&t=20921
He cashed the cheque and almost 1 month later I am still waiting for the Diff he promised to arrive. He has made lots of delivery promises - and even eventually supplied a 'false' Parcel Force ref number - PF confirm there was no parcel available when they tried to collect, and the delivery address they had in their 'booking' was not for me anyway. Since then - Eden has his phone either off the hook or on answer machine, and he never returns my calls.
My local Police Force are now on the case - and they advised me to list these facts on here to ensure others are not as foolish as I have been.

I know we've been chatting privately about this Roy but its a good warning to everyone on here. Hopefully it won't spoil the nature of our trades with each other but If we look out for one another we should be OK.....
This maybe just a mis understanding and hopefully Max Eden can sort Roy his diff and get it off to him !

Thanks Rich - my stupidity for not noticing how few 'posts' he had on the Forum at that time. And I agree - it's just this one problem - I have traded with several people through this forum without the slightest delay or problem in the past. I think that's what made me so careless!

Just a thought - Maybe we can start a system of "vouching" for people we have traded with. I for one was very happy with a recent trade I had on here. I won't mention names yet in case the idea is pooh poohed but it could help us all out ?

I think the 'vouching' for would be a good thing, don't put the name in this thread incase people get confused as to who the problem is!
Bad luck on the deal, I assume you were not the only one Roy!

Well - I hope I am the only one - but if anyone else has had the same problem with Eden - please PM me. I'm sure the Police will be very interested!

Thanks Kevin - To update my loyal readers, my Local Police Inspector phoned Mr Eden and left a 'message' on his answer machine. Amazingly - my parcel appears to have been posted around that time, and it arrived (completely un-announced) late yesterday afternoon. The diff sent is the correct 41/11 ratio, and is in good condition. So - all's well that ends well - but I wonder about the outcome if the Police had not become involved. I have since made a donation to the Police Orfans Fund.
I shall certainly NEVER again send a cheque to an unknow seller ! I've learned my lesson.

Glad you got that diff Roy, alls well that ends well, but hassle like this we can do without eh. Surprised the Police got involved, usually they just yell "Civil Matter" and walk away.

They did indeed MT - but it was a quiet afternoon in Larkhall Police station!

Good news! And nice to hear that the fuzz are reacting to and aparently resolving this sort of behaviour.
