Rolling Radius & Insets & Offsets!!

Post by PaulEllis »

:-? Can anyone provide me with a bit of tyre tech info on moggy wheels?

1) Whats the rolling radius laden and unladen for a standard 5.20 R14 moggy wheel
2) Whats the inset for standard rim
3) Whats the offset for standard rim
4) Whats the maximum Inset you can use without any contact
5) Whats the maximum Offset you can use without any contact
6) I'm looking to increase the circumference and rolling radius of my wheels to assist in gearing, has anyone fitted 16 or 17 rims successfully?

Thanks for your time
Paul

Dunno about the details you want - but some fit the 15" MGF wheels when using Marina hubs and rear axle - they have 3.75" pcd. Fitting 16 or 17 wheels has of course been done (with v low profile tyres) - but to get any worthwhile 'gearing' advantage you really need to change the diff (3.9 and 3.7 are avaialble at a price) . Or fit a 5 speed gearbox with an 'overdirve' top gear ratio.
You will be hard pressed to get any 16 or 17" wheels with the Minor 4" pcd!
