the number is the chassis

Dark Grey 4 Door Saloon Left hand drive export market built around late 1955.... The number 4 at end of vehicle id code could possibly mean it was North American Market.

.I bought a 1971 traveller in may and am in the process of restoring it,i will post some photos as the car slowly transforms to its original condition,I live in Finland and work in a body shop repairing crashed vehicles,doing rust servicing and painting.I am not rushing to do the traveller as when you rush you cut corners.the lhd is a car that i am chasing in the uk,but its very important for me to be able to get the paperwork or have it dated in the uk and a reg paper with the manufacture date,idea is the original docs,for this we will see.the traveller is very popular here because of the heartbeat programme.
and fins like old cars.you can call his wife,his politics but never his car.thanks very much for taking time to give me some information,every bit helps.

Post some pictures and we might be able to id year of manufacture from certain details on the car, ie has it semaphores or normal indicators, style of interior, split screen or normal, wiper position, heater fitment, etc, etc, etc....
