Interchangability of parts request

Hi
I have just bought a 1954 Traveller that needs a bit of work and I have been offered a Minor (don\'t know the year!) but I understand it is not a split screen model. Could anyone with more knowledge than I have tell me which parts are likely to be interchangable. Obviously not bodywork (doors are shot) but perhaps mechanical parts?
Thanks
John

If the second car is free grab it. If a later 1098 engined model, you would get a bigger engine, stronger gearbox. Always handy to have a spare axle, half shafts, diff, and suspension components.

Yep - most parts will swop, although your car will not then be 'original' if that bothers you. The brakes from the later car will be much better ! But just about everything will be useful - or can be sold on ebay to raise funds.

Thanks for quick reply. All I need now is to find storage space!
As a newbie I am sure I will be back for more information, can you suggest any good restoration books?
Thanks
John
