Hi I am trying to find my local branch details as I am new to all of this and have just purchased a lovely 1968 minor after looking for the write one for over 12 monthes and would like to meet like minded minor lovers. Oh and what a great site this looks  [/b]

Hi Moggy1961 we have an Essex branch. Contact Derek Brick (Billericay) on 01two7765three115. Thanks for your comments about the site, ask whatever questions you have theres always someone around to answer them. :D

It's Desmond Brick, not Derek. In the branch newsletter you will find details of a local Minor specialist. There is also a technical adviser who, although retired, spent years working on Minors. We're a friendly bunch with a variety of cars; and you'd be made most welcome. I look forward to seeing the car :D

Oh splendid - I'm not the only Moggie owner from Essex here!
Albiet, I've seen two tooting around Southend this week alone..

There are quite a few in the area, some of which only come out in the summer. I'll keep a look out for you.

Saw one this morning parked outside a Tesco at Tarpots. The manbeast was in awe of the Police sign on it.
I fear I leave my Jeremy out in the rain! S'the trouble with having a father stowing away a dead Traveller in the garage I guess.

Hi, could you please elaborate on: "the Police sign on it", and also what or where is "Tarpots"? Thanks.

It was black and made up to look like a Police car, thus having a "police" sign on the roof, is as much as I know!
As for Tarpots, it's a place in South Benfleet.

Tarpots takes its name from the pub, now a Harvester London road (A13) junction with High Road.

I've not seen that car, Ill have to look out for it.

Doesn't get out much, but Essex (Benfleet) is the place!

I wonder if it was this one which turned up at Herts Branch rally this year, Believe it had come out of a museum & had been an original police car in Scotland.
Image
If anyone can get any further info on that car then the Register (shortly to be relaunched) would be very grateful.

I only saw it from the back, but yes, from what I can tell, that looks like the one I saw.
I'll ask around about it, there must be someone round here that knows something of it.

Hi Simon are you involved with the register then as I can point you in the general direction of that Police Car, it may be best to send a PM.

I'm an Essex Moggy ( or rather my car is :D ) she is my only car and I drive her up the 127 to work every night and home every morning when working at the hospital. I too have seen the odd moggy out and about, I see one (or used to) along the 127 a snowberry? white convertible and have seen the occasional one around, not all of them in the summer.

How does the new diner on the A127 look, used to be a Little Chef. Though I drive on the A127 most days from the Rayleigh Weir I pull off for the A130 for Great Baddow and Harlow. If it ever stops raining at the weekends I will make the effort to have a look. :D :D
