question about dashboard trim combinations - later cars

on the ute i am doing up, it originally had one of those alloy plates on the dashboard in the center, but doesnt have any of the other trim, so the dashboard effectively looks like an early 1000 with an alloy plate around the speedo. is this an original configuration or am i missing parts?

we dont see too many later 1000 models here due to them only coming out in LCV after 1963 so i havnt actually seen many cars with the alloy plate, only pictures on the net like this one http://www.flickr.com/photos/morrismino ... 126709318/

do the dashboards always have the later style glove boxes when they have the alloy plate?

Don't think so! They have had the covers removed - your dash is fine.

they were a bit different, like in the picture of the white one. thats the way to go. the chrome finishers either side of the speedo are skinner that the saloon.
