Has anybody tried these?

My rear axle is quite badly scored and wondered how easy these are to fit as they look like a quick fix for my oil leaks.

I haven't, but it looks like a good idea at first glance

Agreed they do look a good idea, why not contact the seller as they seem to do a fair selection of Moggie Bits.

It's by no means a new idea - similar system has been in use for industrial repairs for many years. If this leakage is a serious problem for owners - then yes - this should sort it!

Yep - one of several systems avaialble. As long as the worn shaft is still concentric it will work fine.

Thanks XDB, Barnwells do one for £17.50 plus p&p and VAT.
What other systems do you know of BMC?

Dunno mate - but it's a common enough repair in Industry. Would need to search.

Not to worry, I'll try one of the Barnwell jobbies. I like the idea of being able to fix the axle in situ as well.

i have a leaky oil seal on rear n/s, when you strip down and you take oil seal off, is this pitting or damage to the axle if it is causing the leak, is it something you can see or check with a straight edge, can someone talk me through this job? thanks.
