AON and Footman James insurance

Post by WPR678B »

I recently received my AON insurance certificate but when it arrived it was in a Footman James envelope with a Footman James postmark! :o
Does anyone know if the two companies have merged? :-?
I always thought that they were the 2 main independants!

Hmm, I hope that customer service doesn't suffer. I tried to get a quote from FJ for the Sprite recently and gave up after 4 phone calls where I was put on hold. Needless to say I went elsewhere.

yes bm just had the lowest quote from rh special car insurance£73.50 . Unlimited milage,£50 excess uk breakdown. Adrian flux wanted £117 with 100 excess and 3000 miles. But they included a challenge that if I could find a lower quote they would beat it.Guess where the ball now lies,I could hear the guy gulp when I told him.Just waiting for the writen quote from RH to copy and send off to Flux( RH is 01277206911 got it out of classic car mag who did an article on a hillman and gave this as insurance )Still looking round to see if I can beat this one then back to Flux. Just shows it pays to shop about, what did we do before the internet :D

I'm with RH on my Commer camper van. I can't understand how they can include UK and European breakdown cover AND insurance for only £97.00, but they do. I'll be putting the Traveller with them next month.

Im RH all the way, cant beat them!

No idea why the clubs still with their insurance 'Special offer' company, surely a reveiws in order! Ive always been quoted around double what i can make a phonecall for to get half....if that makes sence!! Without getting too political and getting people moaning, why are the club with AON and what benefits are we actually getting, seems to me its always been the same insurer offer who have the monopoly and aint rocking the boat to help enthuusiasts like us out.

It looks like Firebond have also been incorporated. Received a letter with Footman James on the outside, and Firebond on the inside.

I wouldn't be going back to AF to give them a second chance - just give RH the business. They say it includes roadside assistance - and if not fixed in an hour or so - they will take you home (or to wherever you were going). Sounds great - I haven't had to use the service - can anyone who HAS used this service confirm it works ok ?
They are also very flexible - I just add my TR7 on for the few months it's on the road and they simply up my monthly premium by a small amount -then take it off again when I put the TR7 away for winter.

Hmm, I hope that customer service doesn't suffer.
If you class "unable to deliver your insurance documents in 3 weeks despite a few phonecalls" as bad service then hopefully things will improve in future!!!
