Been looking about and think I may have got our car under insured .I payed £700 for it ,the only blemish is a small bubble about the size of a 10p coin on the drivers door ,inside is in good order. Insured it for the £700 I payed for it ,is that enough or should I increase this , if so by what please ???[/b]

i payed £400 for my car, i insured it for £1400 and it had a fair bit more than one rust bubble wrong with it...but my insurance company, AON, valued it at £2000.

i'd get a valuation crtificate from a garage or minor specialist and hand that to your insurer...that what i was told to do anyway :)

Well you often tend to pay less than the official value of the car, I'd say it's probably worth over 1000

It has a MOT until April 09 ,looking around I thought a figure of about £1200 ish would get me a replacement should the worst ever happen.

Well supply some photo's to your insurance company saying now you have had the bodywork improved you would like the valuation increased to £1,500

And it may not cost any more to 'up' the value.
Meantime - put a secret petrol pump switch on the car to stop it getting stolen!
