I did this to a Morris gearbox many years ago. Not a great picture but you get the idea. MGPA gearbox remote grafted onto an MM sidevalve gearbox to give a very short stick and a fast change. Ooooooh! Racing gearbox. Aaaaaah!

And it worked, too.
