Coolant Capacity

Hi, can any one tell me the coolant capacity for a 1970 Moggy (yes its getting to that time of year again and anti freeze beckons).

Are you draining the whole system and flushing, or do you not know if there is antifreeze in from last year?
If draining first, then an easy way is to premix the water / antifreeze in a big jug to the ratio you need. Then just keep filling until it's full.

If there's any left over, then keep it for topping up. I keep a 1 gallon plastic container in the boot for that. Premixed water/antifreeze is a useful thing to have over winter because if you need to top up the radiator on a cold day, frozen water doesn't do the trick!

I can't recommend a ratio as your profile is blank, so not sure which part of the world you are in.

I usually use 33% anti-freeze mix, and like Ray says, keep a pre-mixed bottle in the boot for top-ups.

The capacity of the cooling system with the heater is about 5 1/2 litres.

Anti Freeze now fitted
