Hello Everyone!! Can anyone help a newbie?! I have a 1971 Traveller, the problem is that when I use the flasher stalk, the green light at the end of the stalk flashes once only although the flashers outside the car continue to flash until the indicator is cancelled. Is this right?

Nope.Loose contact? New flasher unit? Dodgy earth? I'm sure others will pop up with more help

Aye -I would try another flasher unit - but just check the flasher bulbs are the correct 21 Watt versions.

I had a similar problem- the stalk would flash on left turns only, even though the indicators worked normally. A new flasher unit solved the problem.

Flasher unit it is then! I'll sort one out today. Thanks to you all!

I would like to bet that its because the inside of one of the front indicators assemblies is rusty, and you are not getting a good earth.

Hello Rod,

if you had a bad earth in one of the lamps, then the flashers would not work. Minor flasher relays are different as they have a separate feed to the stalk tell tale, so flasher unit is what I would go with.
