gold dust is easier to find :o I managed to get a secondhand one from tom roys the last one he had and it was expensive and the chrome wasn't that good.If you have a splitty and are doing the screen rubber make sure you get the insert out without damage and keep it safe and flat.Good luck with your search.

Yep.... if you have it from the start!! I have 3 splitties but none have the insert :-( I'd like to know if the insert is chromed or stainless

There were some for sale at the National. Keep an eye out at rallies.

A well meaning helper tapped mine with a wooden hammer to get it to into place and a bit of the surface came off :(

So I guess that means it's chrome.

And, yes, store them FLAT. they distort really easily.

Good luck.

PS Have you posted this in the WANTED section?

Yes I posted in the wanted section, but somehow that section gets really low hits, that's why I posted here.

The only reason it has lower hits is because unless something is wanted or they have something for sale many users dont find a need to look in it.

Yes true, but that rules out people who know someone else that have the required items so the more the hits the better chance to find the item required.

I kindly require this topic to be a " General Discussion " amongst the members to show how difficult it is to find such item as well...

I think club spares had some for sale at the National. Worth a call to Bryan Gosling.

I've seen a couple on ebay over the last few months, but they havn't always got the joning pieces - might be worth keeping an eye out.
They are made of brass and chromium plated, I had mine stripped and replated (including the joiners) for £35

I had 10 PAIRS of inserts and 6 PAIRS of joining strips for sale at the national!
I know all the joiners sold and i'm pretty sure all the inserts did as well, but the trailer went back into storage straight after the national, so i am unsure of what is actually left in there!
If i get a chance to dig the trailer out and unpack it then i will give you a shout.

Sorry to disappoint you but the screen surrounds on the ebay link are not series mm/series 2.

Mark - try emailing some of our Morris suppliers as some of them carry a small stock of second hand parts, and you never know they may have exactly what you want.

Yes, the ebay ones are early Minor 1000 stainless steel ones, which are obviously larger and a different shape. Also very plentiful! Easy to confuse when you see them loose like that. The seller presumably dosen't know.
I'm missing the bottom joining bit for my lowlight, but thats the least of its problems at the moment :o :)
cheers
